hideNseat was created as a “guest star” at The Cabinetmakers’ Autumn Exhibition in 2013. The concept originates from an idea of combining a storage unit with a seating option. The result is a furniture that provides access to both functions, but not at the same time. A folded and perforated cover can easily be pushed from one side to the other. Depending on the desired function the other is not accessible. The either-or principle and the perforated cover is supposed to make the furniture exciting and stimulating.
hideNseat is based on a construction of the bent shells which can be made in acrylic, wood veneer or thin metal sheet. The numerous materials options make it possible to create exciting variants with different expressions and different price ranges.
The idiom is significant and can be extended to a series of furniture referring to the same design principle.
